What research findings are available?

A research group at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz has demonstrated that the chemical and physical charge properties of water can change when it comes into contact with silicate surfaces, among other things.
This discovery forms the basis for our 3Quellen technology and our related patent. It is a natural effect. Our special ceramics therefore consist of water-insoluble silicate materials, crystals, quartz, and feldspar rocks.

What is activated water?

The word ‘activate’ is of Latin origin and means ‘to set in motion’ or ‘to become active’. It therefore refers to water that has been treated with the aim of increasing its activity, i.e. increasing its movement.
If water is treated with a magnet, for example, its activity does not change. You can easily test this with a glass of water. Despite the magnetism, you will not notice any movement in the water. However, if you stir the water with a spoon, you transfer kinetic energy into the water. In 3Quellen devices, the water is pressed through specific, geometrically shaped ceramic parts and thus deliberately swirled. The aim is to introduce as much kinetic energy as possible into the water and to maximise the contact between the water and the ceramic.
In addition, surface contact with silicate CeraActiv ceramic causes physical charge changes in the water.

Is the water chemically altered?

No. The chemical composition of the water is not altered.

Can the water appliances be installed by the customer?

Accepted Answer

The 3Quellen S unit and the water filters can be installed by the customer. Detailed instructions are included.
The 3Quellen M and 3Quellen L units should always be installed by a specialist contractor.

Question 5

Do the devices need to be replaced or serviced?

Accepted Answer

No. Our devices are designed for continuous operation without maintenance. The 3Quellen technology is based on natural effects that remain constant throughout the service life.
However, external contamination or mineral substances in the water (rust, etc.) can lead to a decrease in performance. In this case, the ceramic elements in the devices can be replaced.

Question 6

Does the lime content in the water change?

Accepted Answer

No. The amount of lime present in the water remains the same. However, our customers' experiences show that the type of lime precipitation changes. In almost all cases, it is reported that lime deposits on surfaces become smaller and much easier to clean.
These are reports from some of our customers, which cannot currently be explained scientifically. The theory of crystal nucleation and the associated precipitation of lime in running water could provide an explanation.

Question 7

Can activated water be carbonated (enriched with CO2)?

Yes. 3Quellen water can be carbonated without losing its activation.
