Filtration of drinking water is sensible

The treatment and monitoring of drinking water, our most important foodstuff, is carried out in accordance with strict guidelines. Consumers can be sure that tap water is free of harmful substances within the specified limits.

Nevertheless, drinking water may contain substances that you would not want to consume, even in the smallest quantities. To remove these components, drinking water should be filtered. However, it is practically impossible to remove all pollutants completely. The aim must therefore be to filter out the really relevant contaminants efficiently, cost-effectively and without any noticeable impact on everyday usability. This is possible with our filter.

The biggest problem for drinking water begins in the home. Rust in pipes, copper or plastic pipes, plasticisers and plastic leaching from seals, contact corrosion in screw connections, biological contamination from standing water, fittings made of heavy metal alloys, etc. All these factors and many more can contaminate our drinking water to a high degree.

Our drinking water filter is extremely effective against these contaminants. Unlike osmotic processes, the mineral content and taste of the water are preserved. Water pressure is only reduced insignificantly.

A certain contact/dwell time is required in order to adsorb any pollutants that may be present (including PFAS). This may reduce the water flow rate.

No filter breakage possible

Our filter contains a porous carbon solid. The water is passed through the filter body and the substances it carries are trapped on the activated carbon surface. The larger the molecules (such as medication residues), the easier it is for them to bind to the filter material. Once the filter is saturated, the water flow decreases. This is a sure sign that the filter needs to be replaced.

Many filters on the market use free-floating plastic polymers as filter material. On the one hand, we reject the use of plastics, and on the other hand, free filter material poses the risk of uncontrolled filter breakage. So-called cavities can form in the filter material. If these ‘passages’ become clogged over time, a sudden breakthrough can occur. The deposits are then released into the water all at once, with the corresponding consequences.

Combination of water activation and filtration is optimal

Our patented 3Quellen system for water activation is capable of changing the charge properties of water. Substances in the water can then be dissolved and transported more effectively. This also increases the efficiency of filtration. We therefore recommend installing a 3Quellen device upstream of our drinking water filter.

Filtration of drinking water is sufficient

Filtration of all domestic water is usually unnecessary. Of course, for certain reasons (e.g. very high lime content), it may be advisable to treat all domestic water. From a physiological point of view, however, it is sufficient to filter the drinking water at the point of use. This is usually in the kitchen. Our filter can be easily installed under the sink on the kitchen tap, saving space.
